About ME
Hi! I’m Amber, a 25-year-old movement artist from Belgium. My love for performing began as a child when I discovered Indian dance. At 18, I took the train to Leeds to train for three years at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Now I’m based in Ghent, working on all kinds of projects, both in Belgium as well as abroad. I move because my body loves to tell stories, mine and those of others. I work mostly in contemporary dance and Kathak but I’m always continuing to explore. When I teach, I like to focus on improvisation and the joy of moving, but I also dig into technique, giving the body its tools to play. I create my own work, like with my collective zebrastripes, where we made Jumping Over the Zebrastripes, a duet full of chalk and playfulness. My most recent piece, Tattva, is a solo weaving Indian and contemporary dance. In addition, I co-founded DEVLOER platform in Ghent where we bring dancers together for workshops, jams, and shared moments of movement.

What matters most to me is making dance something anyone can feel part of. I want it in the streets, in unexpected places, bringing people together. Alongside my freelance work, I currently work at a homeless shelter. For me, everything comes back to the body. It knows how to speak without words, and I think we need more of that in the world. I love being curious, watching how humans play and move, and letting that inspire how I work and live.
